With the advancement of the "dual carbon" goals, many regions across China have launched energy-saving renovation projects for high-energy-consuming generator sets. Against this backdrop, the generator parts remanufacturing industry is experiencing rapid growth. According to statistics from the China Mechanical and Electrical Products Distribution Association, orders for remanufactured generator parts increased by 67% year-on-year in the first three quarters of 2025.
Remanufacturing is not simply repair, but rather uses advanced technologies such as laser cladding, plasma spraying, and precision machining to restore and upgrade the performance of worn core components such as rotors, stators, and end caps. Remanufactured parts can maintain a service life of over 95% of new parts, cost only 60% of new parts, and reduce carbon emissions by approximately 70%.
The head of a remanufacturing company in Jiangsu stated, "We have established a comprehensive system for recycling, testing, remanufacturing, and certification of used parts. Our products are certified to ISO 9001 and IEC 60034 standards and are widely used in industrial power plants and distributed energy projects." The industry is calling for the accelerated formulation of national standards for remanufactured parts to promote standardized development of the industry.
